About this Site
Founded in 2003 by Eric Martinot, this site was intended as a non-commercial public service for providing access to information on renewable energy, with a focus on markets, policy, investment, futures, research, and education. The site also provides access to Eric's own publications, many of which are widely used around the world. (And which are all available as free downloads.)Historically across the web, especially when this site was first created, there were many technology-focused sources of information available on renewable energy. But there were fewer sources on the non-technology aspects like markets and finance. This web site was intended to fill that gap. As renewable energy industry matured during the 2010s and became fully commercial, there was an incredible explosion of information and publications about all aspects of renewable energy. This site continued to try to identify the most useful, well-known, and widely-used sites and publications. But that proved to be an increasing effort and less necessary given so many other sources. So updates ended in 2018. Still, much of the material remains relevant, perhaps historically interesting, and suggestive of ways to understand the current picture.
For many years this site received on the order of 100,000 visits per year.
