Renewables Global Status Report
2010 Edition
Renewables 2010 Global Status Report, REN21 (Paris), 80 pp. (Lead authors Janet Sawin and Eric Martinot.) This report is a synthesis of the renewable energy situation worldwide, in both developed and developing countries. It includes markets, policies, investments, industry, and rural energy. This 2010 edition is the best and most comprehensive yet, and follows previous editions for 2005, 2006, 2007, and 2009 (see below). The report, along with many other related materials and an on-line policy map/database, is also available at the REN21 website. A summary article is being prepared for publication in Renewable Energy World magazine Sep/Oct 2010 issue.
2009 Update Edition
The 2009 "update" edition supplements the 2007 full edition (below), with updated statistics and tables for 2008 and recent trends.

2007 Edition
The 2007 edition was a full version and reference for the situation as of end-2007. Language translations in Chinese, Japanese, French, German, and Spanish are available.

2006 Update Edition
A 10-page update to the original 2005 report (see below) is now available, plus supplemental notes and references and a special section on trends in private finance and investment. A press release and further information is available on the website of the REN21 Renewable Energy Policy Network. A summary article of the 2006 update appeared in the July-August 2006 issue of Renewable Energy World magazine.

2005 Edition
This report is a first-ever synthesis of the renewable energy situation worldwide, in both developed and developing countries, fit into 30 pages. It includes markets, policies, investments, industry, and rural energy. The REN21 Renewable Energy Policy Network sponsored the report. See the REN21 Global Status Report Page, which contains the report along with a press release and other information. Worldwatch Institute produced the report for REN21. A summary of the report also appears in the Renewable Energy World Nov-Dec 2005 issue.
